RESIDENT EVIL OPERATION RACCOON CITY REVIEW
MY RATING
This is unlike any Resident Evil I've ever seen or played. 8.0
The reason I say this is because it's more like a run & gun
type of game play which is a refreshing change I think
for the series.
September 1998.
U.S.S. (Umbrella Security Service)
is an elite unit sent in to destroy all evidence of Umbrella's involvement
with the spreading of the T-virus in Raccoon City.
You'll be sent to multiple locations from secret facility's to erie cemetery's
just to clean up Umbrella's mess.
You start by infiltrating Umbrella's lab facility which is reused later on.
Hunk explains that your there to retrieve the G-virus from a scientist
who's trying to sell it to the US government.
Meanwhile, the government has deployed spec ops to help rescue survivors
and ascertain what caused the outbreak. Unfortunately, they are also gunning
for you. Oh well, no ones perfect..
If you haven't played Resident Evil 2 and 3 you'll be out of the loop but if your
like me & just play for the pure enjoyment of killing zombies & not so much the story line,
you'll be fine through the seven mission long campaign.
If your an avid Resident Evil fan you'll recognize memorable characters such as Leon, Claire, Carlos, Jill, Hunk, Nicholai, Ada.
It does have some flaws such as you couldn't vault over cover or climb back onto platforms
to revive your team mates.
You don't have the option of upgrading weapons and every time you die the weapon & items
that you acquired in the level will be lost.
For those of you who like to play split screen with your buds, sorry to say that is not an option in this game .( No local co-op)
As far as exploring your local habitat, it's not going to happen. There are limited areas in which
your killing spree will take you.
The AI's have few rewarding qualities and will test your patience as your begin to wonder who's side they are fighting for. They tend to stand in your way , are slow to heal you if at all and they are drawn to fire like a moth to a flame. So unless you want to spend your game time reviving them repeatedly, kick em to the curb and go on.
Other than those few flaws, it's a good game.
There are 6 characters you can select from with costume changes as well as load outs. Each character
has their own gadget upgrades that allows the player to do different things such as planting explosives, cloaking devices, healing people, biothermal vision just to name a few of the many gadgets available.
Your equipment is easier to access no more opening inventory screens and risk dying to change out a weapon plus they got rid of the old aiming system, where you couldn't move and shoot at the same time.
A better CQC System offers various things you can do such as using a zombie as a shield,
tackling, combos, cover, diving, quick draw & brutal kills all to take out your enemy's.
The XP system allows you to rank up in campaign as well as the option to buy new weapons and gadgets. Rank, gadgets and weapons will all transfer over to versus.
Don't forget to collect data to gain a little extra XP in the mist of the blood bath.
Although it is 4 player co-op, remember that in co-op mode you have to share ammo, health, and antiviral spray which will come in handy when the zombies want to use you as a
chew toy causing you to become a crazed flesh eating hazard to your team mates. You will
find that your team mates come in handy in a "blood frenzy" which occurs as you bleed out due to being shot or bitten which makes you the main targeted meal of choice for all of the hungry undead.
Online is fun to play although it only has a few versus game modes which include Team Attack, Biohazard, Heroes and Survivor.
All in all, from my point of view, it's an entertaining game with more good points than bad but I
find it best to give both viewpoints and let each individual gamer decide where their entertainment
level lies.
Which isn't the case with many reviews that I've read. I find that reviewers tend to lean one way or another depending on their personal and somewhat biased opinions rather than an honest and fair review of both good and bad points of the games they are reviewing. There is no such thing as a perfect game. In the end, the worth of the game is decided by each individual gamer .
I recently read reviews for this game by IGN and Joystiq and was amazed that their reviews contained nothing but negative points regarding the game when in reality there are many positive
features in this new format for the RE series.
ENJOY THE GAME

Don't pay for an Xbox wireless adapter
If your too far from the router and can't use a wired connection. The next step is go wireless but your going to pay $50 to $70 to get a "wireless N Network adapter".
With all the expenses associated with gaming, there's no need to spend the extra money to buy equipment that you really don't need. Take it from me, my whole family games and it can get expensive.
That's why were going to show you how to use a laptop as your wireless adapter.
I'll write the steps out photos included. If you want a video on how to hook this up
let me know.
Step, 1) Your need a laptop, Xbox, & ethernet cable (Network Cable) .

Step, 2) Plug in ethernet cable to Xbox. Then to the laptop.
Step, 3) Go to the start menu on laptop. Type "Internet connection" you'll see "view network. connections" click on it.

Step, 4) You'll see local area connection & wireless network connection. Highlight both of them. Next, right click. You should see a list. Click "bridge connections". A router should appear
This will take a few minutes to connect.

Step, 5) Turn on the Xbox & it should sign you in right away. If it does not sign you in automatically, simply sign in to your account.
*** You can still browse the web while the connection is bridged.
HOW TO UNBRIDGE YOUR CONNECTION
Go back to "view network connections". Highlight the "bridge". Right click. A list will appear. Click delete or Disable.
Well, that's it, I hope this helped out if you have a question let me know.
